The Future of Human Health
September 28, 29, 30 & October 1, 2026
RegisterMadrid will become the meeting point for this futuristic celebration, where world-renowned experts will present their ideas and research on the science of Longevity.
The goal is to combine international meetings with local audiences and help promote research and development in the longevity industry in Spain and worldwide.
In partnership with pioneering sponsors, we will make our best effort in scientific outreach to raise societal awareness of the new economy and the opportunities that will arise in the next two decades.
The International Longevity Summit, on September 30 – October 1, 2026, isn't just a conference; it's a global convergence of scientific rigor and visionary thinking. We bring the longevity conversation to Spain, Southern Europe and Latin America.
In recent years, the Summit was held at the Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Madrid (ICOMEM, Illustrious College of Physicians of Madrid), founded in 1893. This year, the International Longevity Summit 2026 moves to the Real Academia Nacional de Medicina de España (RANM, the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain), established in 1734 as the Academy of Medicine of Madrid by royal decree of King Felipe V. In 1861, under Queen Isabella II, the institution was redesignated the Royal Academy of Medicine.
The current King of Spain, Felipe VI, serves as the Academy's Royal Patron — an honor that reflects its place among Spain's most distinguished scientific institutions. The RANM is also a constituent member of the prestigious Institute of Spain.
The two Spanish Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine — Santiago Ramón y Cajal (1906) and Severo Ochoa (1959) — were both members of the Royal Academy, which also counts numerous international Nobel laureates among its honorary members. The Academy is ideally situated in the historic heart of Madrid, between the Royal Palace and the Teatro Real (Royal Opera House).
Spain welcomes around 100 million tourists annually — more than twice its own population. Madrid is also home to the headquarters of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), cementing Spain's position as a global leader in tourism.
Spain is also among the top five countries with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites. To celebrate this, the Summit includes two optional pre-conference excursions: on September 28, heading south-east to Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez and Toledo; and on September 29, heading north-west to Ávila, Segovia and El Escorial. Spain is the land of Plus Ultra— and here you will discover what lies "Further Beyond."
As one of the world's great tourist capitals, Madrid offers every type of accommodation imaginable, from ultra-luxury hotels to budget hostels, with most major international hotel groups represented alongside countless Airbnb and private room options. The historic city centre, where the Royal Academy is located, is particularly well served across all price ranges. Given the abundance of options, we do not promote any specific property — but the charming Hotel Opera is just one block from both the Royal Academy and the Teatro Real, and offers a discounted rate of €190 per night with the code REALMADRID.
We are pleased to announce an Open Call until August 15th for those interested in participating in the International Longevity Summit Madrid 2026.
